I have received acceptance from Queens, UoT, Western, UBC and Simon Fraser and carleton . I am thinking of going undeclared for my first year. I received a scholarship from Carleton of around 4 grand… I have visited the campuses of these and I was wondering, which one of these would be the best for me to go to? How is their social life respectively and a academic reputation.
Academic reputation…
I would say that UoT and UBC have a great reputation, and I’ve heard some regarding Queens.
That being said, UBC is known for their great graduate work. That doesn’t stop people from applying and studying there for undergraduate studies.
Most students I know in Canada apply and study at either McGill, UoT, or UBC.
But you should take into account your own major as well when deciding the university for you.
I don’t know much about social life, I’m sorry about that.
Good luck!
After undeclared, what fields would you like to go into?
What’s the net price at each and what’s your parents’busget?
Queens and western are known for their business schools.
Carlton has a great ‘undeclared’ program, and is fantastic for international relations.
UoT and UBC are behemoths - although ubc, with the ‘one’ cohorts, is trying to make the experience a bit less impersonal. They’re both highly regarded.
