I am currently an undergraduate (freshman) student in a university looking to transfer to NC State. To get into State for Fall of 2018, I will need to prepare my application and submit it on Feb. 15. If I were to transfer for Spring of 2018, I’ll need to prepare my application during Fall of 2018. I made some calls and emails to State. They said they receive more application in the Spring than the Fall for transfer students. They also told me that if I were to apply for Fall, there would be a lot of majors to apply from but in the Spring there won’t be that many. Right now I am currently signing up for 14 credits. My problem is I don’t know if I should apply for Fall of 2018 or Spring of 2018. I know for a fact that by the time I graduate my freshman year, I’ll have at least more than 30 credits. I’m trying to transfer to State asap but I’m afraid that if I get denied, I’ll have to apply to State in my Junior or Senior year. Please help and tell me what I should do!! Selecting to apply for either Fall of Spring have a huge impact on my major. Currently I have an undecided as my major.
Let me rephrase this. Is it better for me to transfer to State for Fall or Spring of 2018? Since State is a competitive college, anyone knows how I can successfully get in? Please Help!!
Hey man, I am actually trying to transfer in the upcoming spring as well here is something you should consider you know that you submit your application and it gets denied for the spring you can still be considered for the fall. You just have to pay the application fee again and you should be alright overall. That way you can also call them if you want to change your major etc hope that helps and hopefully we both get in there. Also, another thing is that it doesn’t look bad trying to get into both because there could be many reasons you don’t get in through the spring whether it’s because of highschool grades or not enough credits etc. In my opinion, I think that paying $85 for a chance to get into this university is really worth it.
@Macbook2013 Thanks for the help. Are you applying from a community college or a university? I think I’m trying to apply for the Fall of 2019 or Spring of 2019.
I guess I will put this for anyone to see
Currently a Freshman at Central Piedmont Community College
College GPA 3.4 after fall semester
34 Credits
HS GPA: Let’s not talk about that
ACT:23
EC CIS, Tennis, Other things like work nothing spectacular
Essays: Will say pretty good
Intended Major: BA Finance, PCOM
Hopefully get in so I can attend in the spring
@Macbook2013 I hope you can get in. Please do post on this discussion if you got in for a reference for other people
Will do hope I can get in. Should be competitive but I will post regardless
