Help needed with Target college recos for rising Senior

Now I am certain she attends the same private school as I did. It is perfectly fine to not know what you want to do when you are 17, and many of those kids who are so certain of their career path will change direction.

Of my three girls, middle kid was undecided, except she said that she did not want engineering or business. She got two undergrad degrees, one in STEM and one in the humanities, and has combined those interests in her PhD program. It will all work out.

You have some good suggestions here for schools. One that DH and I looked at about a year ago was Duquesne. Yes, it is in Pittsburgh, but the campus is tucked away on a hill, and is very self-contained. You donā€™t feel that you are in a city, though you can be in the city in minutes.

I have also heard good things about University of Scranton. I tried to get youngest to consider it, though she refused (I think she just associates it with Dunder Mifflin).

Holy Cross must be doing something right in the life sciences. Fauciā€™s an alum - although obviously from a very long time ago.

I live in Connecticut and hear Fairfield promoting their engineering program a lot on the radio lately. They have biomedical engineering, which might be of interest to someone whose interests started with life sciences but is stepping back to consider other options.

When you visit, itā€™s worth asking about the popular off campus beach housing. Take a drive down to the water and see what all the fuss is about. It might be appreciated by your daughter who likes to stay connected to the natural world.
