I want to pursue a degree in Computer Science in the United States but the fees for international students are too high....I can only afford a university where the total costs required(inclusive of my living) is below 20,000$ a year. I really want to find a spot by fall......please assist if you know any university that will help me with this.

You’re very late in the game for finding such a place. Most scholarships had to be applied for by last winter.

If you have high stats, then the UA Huntsville might still award such a scholarship. What are your stats?

By fall with money? Highly unlikely, and any school where it’s possible is probably not worth coming to the US for. Applying as an intnl requires much research. You’ll need to look at the following year.

Is it difficult for me to enter with that amount in a good university even if its next year please suggest some universities…

What are your grades and SAT scores? Where are you from?

I do not require a scolarship…I have the money…I am looking for a university whose fees below 20,000$ for international stuudents

I am from Kenya, Africa and we have a different system from the one there though here are my secondary scores
English B+
Kiswahili A
Maths A
Physics A
Chemistry A
History A-
Christian Religious Education A-
Business Education A-

Being from Kenya will put you in demand. You need to take the SATs before we can suggest schools. Read on the web sites of the colleges that interest you what tests they require.

Here is a link to a thread on this site that has info on schools still accepting aplicants.

Thanks for all the advice…and if you get any first hand information I will need especially on universities please pass it on

Yes, you have some money. However, there are few (in any) that have Int’l COAs that are $20k or less. Int’l COAs are a bit high because they often include insurance, etc. And, the COA includes personal expenses and travel (not int’l travel). You have to show that you have the funds to cover all costs to get your Visa.

As a CS majors, that may further limit choices.

So, you may need a scholarship if your budget is $20k per year.

Have you take the SAT or ACT? If so, what were your scores?

[Math and Computer Science Department - Truman State University](<a href=“Truman State University’s Majors & Programs”>Truman State University’s Majors & Programs)

The cost of attendance is right about $20,000 for non-Missouri residents. The overall reputation of the school is excellent. I know nothing about the quality or reputation of their computer science program. They are still accepting applications for the fall.

You need to get in touch with the closest office of EducationUSA right now. The counselors there are expert at helping students like you. They will tell you if you still have time to get in for the fall. You might not. There is extra paperwork for international students. EducationUSA is a not-for profit organization. If they have to charge any fees for a service, those fees will be very small. Don’t beafraid to get in touch with them.
