Hello! I just got accepted to USC as a transfer student with an undecided major. I would like to pursue a communications major, but I am also highly interested in pursuing a major towards a career as a dietician. In order to do that would I major in human biology, kinesiology, occupational therapy or occupational science? Does anyone know? I ask specifically to USC because that is where I am choosing to attend.

Congratulations on your admission. Since you were admitted as Undecided, you were admitted to Dornsife. Since Communications is another School (Annenberg), you may need to look into how/if your admission will be looked at by that Schools Admissions office. However, your best bet will be talking to your “Undecided” adviser whom you will meet at orientation. You could try to email him/her now to get a quicker response.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, USC doesn’t offer a dietetics major. However, I think the closest thing would be BS in Human Biology with a focus in Nutrition and Metabolism. As far as I know, they aren’t accepting new Kinesiology majors (read bottom of 2nd link, might as well ask advisor).

Thank you! I too found that I would need a B.S. in Human Biology with an emphasis in Nutrition and Metabolism. @madbean, I will certainly need to apply to enter the Communications department. However, if I choose to minor in Comm, then I do not need to.
