I applied to Rowan University in late November and still have not heard back if I got accepted or denied. This is beginning to worry me that it is a bad sign that I wont since it is taking so long being that it is a rolling admission school and that most of my classmates have gotten a response. Is it a bad sign that my that I dont meet the requirements since it is taking so long? Is anyone else in the same position as me?
I also applied at the end of November and haven’t heard anything either. I know someone who was already accepted and someone who was told that they wouldn’t sent out letters until after March.
@Cstilwell I just got my letter of acceptance and a scholarship worth $6000 per year in the mail yesterday. Rowan finally received my SAT scores on January 9th after I sent them out in late November. I hope you get your letter soon and if you’re really worried that much a call to Rowan’s admission office might not be a bad idea.
Best of luck
@CaseyQvQ i hope it wont be after march…that woulld be terrible.
they told me they are processing my application but they have been saying that for awhile
Freeday, congrats on acceptance and merit. May ask you you stats…sat, gpa, etc. D was accepted for comp/electric engineering but no word of merit scholarship. Was wondering about that. Thanks!
They have a nice chart available for their Merit aid levels. I’ll paste it and the link to it below. The SAT Range is based on CR/M

1,200-1,249 $2,000-$4,000
1,150-1,199 $2,000
My son got his acceptance letter today. I can’t recall when the application was originally submitted though.
Nothing the in packaged about merit aid, but it did include an invitation to apply to the honors program.
@dbjs70 do you have any range when he applied? Was it before December?
@EandEsDad when did your D apply and get accepted? What was the timeframe to hear back
I applied on 12/30 and got a decision on 1/7
Stats weren’t particularly noteworthy either (1200 CR + M, 3.7 UW GPA, ect.)
She applied late Nov or early Dec and found out in about 3 weeks. We were shocked at the turnaround time.
@EandEsDad 1800 SAT with a 1250 Math+Reading - 3.7 weighted GPA. Nothing really outlandish but it definitely helped me decide on committing to Rowan.
@Cstilwell, yes he applied before December. I found the date - it was mid-November. Received merit aid award in the mail today too.
He applied for engineering, which we had heard takes longer to turn around than some other majors/departments.
My S applied at the end of September for Computer Science and just got the letter of acceptance today along with a letter for 2k merit per year, and another letter about application to the honors college. He has 3.6 GPA and 27 ACT.
@carly135 - have you filled out FAFSA forms already? Just curious as my daughter was accepted with some pretty strong stats but no mention of merit. I have not done FAFSA yet, just wondering if that is the hold up.
My son applied on 12/30 and accepted into Engineering school on 1/14. Merit aid letter came same day. I think a lot of factors go into how fast of a response you get especially if scores or recommendations haven’t been received. My son is attending Rowan at BCC while a senior in high school and that could be why his acceptance came in 2 weeks.
FAFSA will not hold up application, you just won’t get financial aid information yet.
@carly135 congrats! maybe they will finish reviewing mine soon since i am also CS. Im surprised it took so long to hear back, Do you know why it was such a long wait being this is a rolling admission school?
@Cstilwell I don’t know why it took so long because the app, LOR, and ACT scores were all in by early October. My S. called the admissions office last week because we were concerned that we hadn’t heard anything and they said a decision had just been made and he would receive it soon. Sure enough a few days letter the acceptance letter arrived in the mail. Good luck!
@ EandEsdad we filed the FAFSA just last weekend- but that was long after his application went in. I don’t think it has anything to do with merit scholarship.
@carly135 maybe i will call then. I called early December and they said it was under review. My thought on the application time is that they go by major but I don’t know. Hopefully they will tell me something other than “under review” again
