Hey everyone. I was waitlisted RD at Northeastern today. I have a 3.8 W GPA & 1410 SAT. I feel kind of good to have even been waitlisted because people with such high stats were rejected. I’m super interested in NEU and I haven’t done a formal tour, but I have been on campus. I’m really hoping to get in. I’ve been in contact with my regional representative a couple of times, however I was wondering if anyone had any advice to help get off of the waitlist? Would visiting and writing a letter help? Thanks!
Visiting will absolutely help and it is typical to write to admissions when you’re waitlisted to a school you like. I know I’m planning to in a few days. My weighted GPA is about the same as yours (but I submitted ACT scores) so I can relate. Good luck!
It wouldn’t hurt to show interest by visiting and writing a letter, but I really wouldn’t pin your hopes on getting in. Last year Northeastern was overenrolled by hundreds and the waitlist wasn’t opened at all. If you’re from really far away, I wouldn’t spend the money to visit.
