Help! Not a classic chance thread!

So i'm wondering, what are the chances of a high achieving student applying for Harvard getting in early action? Harvard is clearly my top school....but I feel like if I apply for Harvard early action and then get rejected, it'll discourage me for the rest of my schools. Contrarily, if I apply to MIT/Caltech/UChicago early action and get into ONE of those schools, it'll boost my confidence and security in knowing i'll be able to go to a great school.

Also, with the return of early action, do you think that many, many people will apply early action for Harvard? So many that it will render the Early Application admission rate boost insignificant?

I feel like they got rid of EA at Harvard for a reason … SO many people have ALWAYS wanted to go to Harvard and then the people who kind of sort of wanted to go … a lot of these people apply ED to other Ivys so it weeds out the applicant pool a little more!

I think that if you want to apply, apply! If not, don’t! It’s very simple! If you can see yourself there and getting in, apply! Good luck!

“High achieving student” is pretty vague :P
