HELP!!! (Not a stats question). URGENT!!!

I'm currently a college student attending a prestigious honors program at a community college here in Miami, FL and am applying to transfer next fall to both FSU and UCF for admission next fall. I'm a Vice President for Phi Beta Lambda, Editor for an award-winning magazine and a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. My GPA's a 3.5 in all honors courses, and my ACT was a 25. I hope I have a shot at getting in! :) I'm interested in the communications program, and want to have a career in either public relations or broadcast journalism. Does anyone know the caliber of FSU's programs when compared to UCF, or can anyone tell me about the program in general? The information on the department's website was not helpful at all. Thanks so much guys :)

Your credentials sound excellent so I would not think you will have any trouble with admission to the university, especially if you have your associates degree. You can check the MAP in the Academic Program Guide for the Communications major that you are considering so that you can make sure you have the prerequisites they require.

http://www.academic-guide.fsu.edu/

This is from the FSU website:

"The College of Communication houses Seminole Productions, one of the leading sports production companies in the nation. Full-time staff and the students they instruct have won more than 40 national and international awards over the last five years for their cutting-edge video work."

Here's the main Communications website: http://comm.fsu.edu/CommDept/

and the undergraduate admissions website: http://comm.fsu.edu/CommDept/Admissions.php#undergradadmissions

It appears that this is a "Limited Access Program" which means it will be very competitive to enter.

I can find no specific ratings for undergraduate or graduate Communications programs at the moment. Since FSU in general is rated much higher than UCF by the various ratings services, I'd suggest it would be preferable. The fact that this major is a limited access program probably speaks for itself. What I'd also suggest is that you visit the university and speak with the faculty of that department. That'll probably be the best way to find out if it is for you.
