Help!? Not sure where I could get in...

Hey, uhh I'm going into my senior year and I have some ideas where I would like to go but I don't really know my chances for getting in anywhere. I seem to be in the opposite situation as most people because my GPA and test scores are ok but I am lacking in extracurricular. I cant get into any really prestigious school but I still want a quality education!

GPA: 4.0 +(higher with weighting but I'm not sure the exact number)
I have taken the hardest courses offered at my school and two AP classes so far: AP European History- 4 and AP Calculus AB- 4 (we have block scheduling so it isn't possible to take more than 2 each year)
SAT: Critical Reading 690 and Math 650 (not sure about the writing, but I know it wasn't too impressive)

Extracurriculars: School newspaper, I'm the treasurer of the National Honors Society, and track and field

Volunteering and out of School activities: Tutored children at an oppurtunity center (only half a year b/c they didn't need after they reorganized the program), involved in church youth group, taught and helped out with the children's ministry at church, various local charity functions

Employment: Worked this year as a cashier (only 12 hrs a wk)

I would like to stay around the mid to north east area but I want to be in a large city and urban area (b/c I love the city and I've lived too long in a small town!) at a mid to large sized school with a good biochemistry, biomedical or premedical program.

So far I'm thinking...

Extreme Crazy Outlandish Reaches: John Hopkins University, University of Richmond

Matches: University of Pittsburgh, Penn State

Safeties: ??

I know I need more schools on my list but nothing else has really stood out to me. If anyone has any other ideas, comments or criticism I would appreciate any kind of feedback!!

Penn State is definitely a safety....

Syracuse? Rochester? Trinity?

Ummm....

Richmond isn't a reach, at all.

I'm using Richmond as a reach and my stats are much lower than yours.

I agree with Trinity and Rochester.

Thanks so much for everyones help! I checked out Syracuse, Rochester and Trinity and they all look like possible choices (with cost as a downside but nothings perfect). I especially like the city of Hartford so Trinity is looking good to me... does it have a good reputation in premed, biomedical or biochemistry? Are these three schools reaches or matches?

Yay, Hartford! (Local girl who loves the city with all her heart.)

im applying to jhu ed and im like obsessed with that forum, lol i think its not gonna be easy to get in but its not a super crazy reach . same with richmond. just show a lot of enthusiasm, write a really great essay, and use their topics, not the common app ones cuz they really like their topics, and, um good luck!!

IF interested in pre-med might look at Tufts or Holy Cross.

Haverford? Philly and U Penn are nearby.

Northeastern, Boston University, American University, Catholic University, George Washington U.

Richmond is not a "crazy reach" for you. Schools that fit your desired criteria (big city and strong science programs) I recommend as a "crazy reaches" are Rice, Northwestern and Chicago. You are going to have to be flexible with regards to location as none of those schools are in the East Coast.

University of Maryland is very close to Washington DC, and there is public transportation there.
