Help!!! NYU or UCLA?

<p>Hi I just had a couple of questions for those of you who know a bit more about NYU than I do. I have never had the opportunity to visit NY so I really don't know what its like but I was hoping some of you could give me some advice on my decision.</p>

<p>The biggest factor is probably money. NYU is giving me a good amount of financial aid (around 30 k) but I'd still need to take out some money on loans and my mom really doesn't want me to be in debt. LA on the other hand is giving me 20 k and I'd only need to pay like 3 - 5 k to go there. But I've been living in LA my whole life which is why I'm having such a tough time making a decision.</p>

<p>Since I've never visited NY, I was just hoping some of you guys could offer some insight on which school would be a better choice for me. I'm going to major in political science so that would also go into my consideration - which school is better for that? </p>

<p>I'd say UCLA just because money is a huge issue.</p>

<p>NYC is much more expensive than LA. Although I would say go for the best fit program, it would not be a good fit if you will be in debt. Furthermore, UCLA is a very highly regarded school so I do not believe you would lose a lot in terms of academics unless there are specifics in a academic program that you want.</p>

<p>You can always travel to NYC for a vacation or for work.</p>
