***Help on audition dates!!!!***

Im a transfer student and am confused... for most of the part the application has to at least be on file with the school, but transfer deadlines are so late. basically the question is how fast do the dates fill up and will it be too late if I wait until late december to get everything in? or should I get cracking now? I've heard horror stories of people who waited until the last minute and couldent get an audition date! dont want that to be me!!!!

Thanks for any help!!!!!!!

Audition dates and policies for a performance concentration are normally detailed on the school’s websites, and the procedures for securing a date vary widely with each institution.

Rather than missing a cut-off or if you are at all unclear, I suggest you call or email the school(s) and get the info directly from the source.

Generally speaking, it is best to secure an audition date as soon as it becomes possible to do so. Each school makes their audition scheduler available at a different time and you should be aware of when that is for the schools which interest you. When that date comes, you should call, or book it online if that’s possible. Audition dates do fill up so yes, as you say, it’s time to get cracking now. What schools are on your list?

1) Rutgers Mason Gross school for the arts
2) Fordham University
3) UCLA
4) Point Park University
5) Roosevelt University
6) Loyola Marymount LA
(other schools are non audition)

My Rutgers app is in and I am just waiting to hear from the theatre, I cant schedule an audition for UCLA until jan 15th according to the website (Correct me if im wrong on that though). SO I just need to get the rest done in a timely fashion right?

AND THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP SO FAR TO ALL WHO HAVE HELPED!

You can go ahead and request your Fordham audition through the school’s online site. I think you can do the same with Point Park.

There is no audition for LMU (Loyola Marymount - LA) it’s a BA program and the university admits on a rolling basis.
