Help on possible college

Hi,

I'm a junior and un-weighted I have a 87 or 3.2 right now, but I am coming from the prestigious high school of Bronx Science.

If I scored an SAT of say 2050 or higher, took AP US History Junior year, applied and got into a number of APs for senior year (like AP Bio, AP Macro, and perhaps AP Psychology) and had a decent record of volunteering at my local nursing home, hospital, and mosque, what would my options be?

Would I be able to apply for NYU or Boston U., or Fordham and get in and furthermore have good financial aid? My father is a simple taxi driver and makes a meager amount, just near 30,000 (I think on the tax record he puts much less). Are there interest-free loans out there for me?

My dream school would be NYU but any new suggestions would be appreciated.

Forget NYU if you’re looking for financial aid. They are notorious for being lousy there. With an income of $30K you might be eligible for a Pell Grant (Max of $5550) and you will be eligible to borrow $5500 (not interest free BTW). You should look at colleges that meet need: [Need-blind admission - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Need-blind admission - Wikipedia)

Also look at these threads for some merit options:

There are always the CUNYs which are affordable good schools.

Like Erin’s Dad says, stay away from NYU. Assuming you’re accepted at schools, you should qualify for significant financial aid. Goto ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ and look up the colleges you’re interested in and then select similar colleges to start getting some ideas about other colleges to consider.
