How does this sound for "Why do you want to attend our school" type of prompt

It is cliché saying “you’ll just know when you get there” but that is exactly what happened when I arrived on August 19th for my first visit to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I did not know what I really wanted in a university until I took a tour of the campus. The fresh air of Lake Mendota running through my hair, the happy smiles of people saying that they loved being here, the ability to go from an atmosphere of a bustling city to a relaxing day on a stretch of emerald colored grass; this became my gold standard for every other university.

Although the atmosphere of a university is important, it is not the only factor when considering where to obtain a degree. The academic accreditation of a school is also of paramount importance. This is why I would feel privileged to attend a school that boasts a ranking of 9th in the nation for my intended major, psychology, and 34th in the world in my intended minor, biology. however, not only would the University of Wisconsin-Madison benefit me as both as a person, and as a student, I feel like I could add a lot to an already stellar institution. Because of University of Wisconsin-Madison's status as a very active research institution, surpassed in spending on research by only two other schools in the nation, I could conduct research in my field of study to help find solutions for our world’s problems and to make the globe a better place for all.

Even though academics are the most important part of college, it is not the only thing to do on campus. I plan on participating in a myriad of activities such as intramural soccer and flag football, while being proud to support the red and gold badgers at their home games. I also would like to be closely linked with the Morgridge Center for Public Service in order to contribute to the phenomenal, life changing projects they have underway. Projects such as the American Red Cross: Mental Health Volunteer, which would allow me to help adults and children disaster victims cope with overwhelming emotions in their time of need.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is a school that has a lot to offer in many different areas. With its superb atmosphere, passion for academics, big 10 athletics, and life changing links with community service, I would be able to grow exponentially as a student, a person, and a member of a united community. The University of Wisconsin-Madison truly is the benchmark that all other universities should strive for.
