i'm in thurgood marshall college, and currently, i am using the schedule planner. i really want eggers for math 20A and johnson for chem 6A, but then the only schedule available is that egger's class is from 11:00 AM to 11:50, and right after that (10 minutes later), johnson's class is from 12:00 PM to 12:50 PM. do you think a 10-minute gap for two classes is a headache, or is that okay? 'cause i feel like i should have big gaps between my schedule so i'll have some free time after each class, but then again, i really want those teachers. i need help!

oh, and when i use the schedule planner, i can't find the thurgood marshall writing classes so i can see what it would look like in my schedule. does any one know what it's called?

soybrains, i would try to sign up for those classes if you can, even if there only is a 10 min. gap - those are both really good teachers. you may just have to walk kind of fast, that's all.

i tried doc. i went to the "D" section, and it's not there. i tried the "T" section for thurgood marshall college courses, but it's not there either. i wonder what section that class is under...

i'm known to walk faster than many other people, so i think i'm good. i'm going to take those classes then. thanks for the advice, everyone!

oh and one more thing. for the discussion sections, i chose 3:00-3:50 (i think) on tuesdays for math 20A, and wednesdays 3:00-3:50. do you think i should make both or either to 2:00-2:50? i don't know how i should manage the gap between discussions/classes, and i don't know what i prefer yet, because i'm an incoming freshman so i never experienced these things. =\ please help! :)

if you don't have any other classes after those discussions, i would aim for the 2-2:50 sections just b/c your day will end earlier that way. However, if you ever have just an hour gap in between classes it usually ends up just being a waste of time (unless you plan on eating breakfast/lunch/dinner in that gap). But yea....after your first quarter you'll get a much better feel for what schedule timings you think you'll like/won't like.
as for the "doc" thing, DOC is just the course abbreviation, maybe try looking for "dimensions of culture" under the D section...?

ok, for most of the week, my 4 classes start at around 9 or 9:30am and they end around 4 pm. so i have a lot of gap between those classes...which will probably end up as a waste of time..... oh, and i dont think my are too difficult as none of them are math or science..... Now, i know that everyone has different schedule timings that work/dont work for them, as TwylaBloo stated above, but i just have one little question.....will i have enough time to do hw and study if i have this kind of schedule?

dyingbreed: you'll be fine. similar to high school, you'll probably just end up studying at night like most people do anyway. it's just that now, you won't be taking 6-8+ classes, all AP/honors that each require homework.

lol iran...here on the east coast, most high schools start at 7 am....so i used to wake up at 6 am.....9 am classes seem like a blessing compared to that....

tieniscool: check at 8am tomorrow for muir 40. they will open up new spots at 8am every morning, i think, like last year. you should then be able to register just fine.

Alrighty, will do then. I get to register in exactly 10 minutes.. and the math10a class I want only has 3 seats left! Will more seats open up later? (My friend wants this class as well)

Okay, I think I might be overdoing it
CHEM 6AH (ap score of 4, didn't want to take chem 6b with that professor)
MATH 20B with Rogalski
MUS 13AS
WCWP 10A with Linda B.
BENG 87 if there's space open after my sophomore standing is cleared

Should I drop WCWP 10A and take it next qt? My schedule for next qt is MATH 20C, PHYS 2A, CHEM 6B, and BENG 1... which doesn't sound much better.
