Help on Upper Divs!

Hey guys, I'm currently a freshman who's a Philosophy- MCB major, and this semester, because PHIL 12A is full with virtually no chance of getting in, I've decided to try and fulfill one of my required upper division history courses. The course I was thinking of is 164B: European Intellectual History from the Enlightenment to 1870.

The thing is, is that this class seems super interesting, but I don't know if I have the experience/writing skills to take an upper division history class (it would suck to have my grades plummet, as law school is looking for those awesome grades apparently). I haven't taken any lower division history classes here yet, so do you think it would be advisable not to take it?

Note: I'm also taking Math 1B, Chem 1A, and Philosophy 25B.

You might be able to make 12a if you get on the waitlist now, or even awhile later.

But I heard the policy for waitlists is that if its less than 10% of the class on the waitlist, then you have the possibility of making it, but otherwise you won’t. And I can’t Phase I it because i’m phasing I math 1b and math 1a.

What should I do?
