Help on waitlists

Hey everyone,
I go to a pretty elite junior boarding school and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one on these forums. I was accepted at Loomis and waitlisted at Groton, Deerfield, and SPS for 9th grade next year. As far as I know, there are about 7 kids waitlisted from my class alone at SPS and that SPS has accepted 75 and waitlisted 75 kids. Every single one of my classmates who applied to Middlesex and St. Mark's were accepted. Only a few were turned away at Hotchkiss and Lawrenceville.
I was just wondering about my chances at waitlists. My school is 1st-9th grade and I am seriously considering staying for the 9th grade where I will have access to the best secondary school admissions counselor, school fairs from top tier schools, and a week off for interviews and school visits (my school goes overboard trying to get 9th graders into their top choice)
So... should I stay at my school, wait for waitlists to pan out, or put the deposit down on Loomis?

btw...
The deposit for 9th grade at my school is about 2000 but the school is understanding and has already told us that we can have extra time before putting down the deposit if we need it. The deposit for Loomis is almost 5000 and I wouldn't put it down unless I was sure I would go.

It sounds like you don’t want to go to Loomis. Listen to your heart, stay where you are and apply again next year. You could even choose to reapply for 9th grade.

wow, your school sounds great already! Your post sounds like you don’t really like Loomis. I would stay at your current school and wait for those waitlist! Do you like Deerfield/Groton/SPS? I’m sure you’ll get in some where, and if not, you have next year to apply too (:

g’luck!

out of curiosity what don’t you like about Loomis? my D is into Loomis and SPS and is deciding.

I revisited loomis and it’s just so different from where i am now and now i’m just really hoping for my waitlists, though i think SPS is the only one that is possible
