Help!? only 2 quarters of calculus?? for Bio

Hey guys, my original plan was to take calculus 1 during winter and calc 2 during spring, but it doesn't look like I'll be getting the class. Therefore making me only get calc 1 done (during spring). However, UCLA Extension is offering Calc A during winter quarter, and Calc B during Spring quarter. I could do that and get 2 quarters of calc done as opposed to 1 semester. Should I take that route? It is 600$ per class, but if I need to do it, I will.
I want to transfer to UCLA/USC and backup as UCSD. I have a 3.9 gpa by end of this semester and TAP/TAG/IGETC complete.

Is calculus 1-a that impacted now? When I took it at my cc, there were maybe 17 students out of a 45 possible. Like seriously! Are there that many people at community college going into math and science majors now? Where do you go?

If anything I would try a different cc before paying the 600 bucks for the ucla classes.

theres only 2 colleges around me that offer calc 1 during winter=Glendale and SMC, because I’ve never attended either of those colleges my registration date sucks. My mom teaches at glendale so she’s going to try and get me into the class even though its already full. I don’t know what to do if I dont get in.

You sir, are in a complicated predicament. One year transfer right? I guess do what you have to do to transfer, and if that’s paying 600 bucks then do it.

2 years, I had to take Intermediate algebra->trig->precalc, my thing is that you need Calc 1 and Calc 2 as prereqs that count for their Calc ABC, if I only do 2 quarters I technically wont finish the prereq and want to know how this will affect me.

Someone on this forum, that I met recently, got from int. algebra to linear algebra in the same amount of time it took you to get to cal 1-a. You really should have considered taking trig or pre-cal over the short semesters like she did.

Well, I couldn’t get a math class my first Fall and winter semester. I took Intermediate Algebra during Spring, Trig during Summer, Precalc Fall and YAYYY my Mom emailed an instructor at Glendale and got me the class cause she teaches there :], so Calc 1 during winter, calc 2 during Spring.
