NO!!! Don’t go! This is hilarious

Under the veneer of politeness, we’re all tense, nervous wrecks. We all want to get into Harvard. Therefore, since our chances are so low, somewhere deep down we want every other applicant to NOT get in. We are like starving sharks. When we see someone showing weakness such as OP, we collectively go in for the kill. Not the most eloquent way to put it, but that’s how it sorta works. RainbowSprinkles seems to be an exception. ;)

You realize many of your other colleges need 2 SAT’s, right? I doubt Harvard will be forgiving too, as before this year they required THREE Subject tests. It is unlikely they will be forgiving since they have already relaxed their standard.

Last year they required three? The year before that theyrequired…NONE. Class of 2013, hardly half way through college, were not required. Anyways later.

^LOL vivid description. Yeah, I’m international so I have little to no hopes at the moment. I’m actually a VERY competitive person, but I’m nice… if that makes sense.

I think it’s safe to say that this issue won’t be settled. No one will walk away happy/satisfied, so horrah. Everybody, go eat a cookie and feel better about this thing!

They’ve always required three until this year, homer.

Yeah really. I’m on the brink of tears now. Hopefully my hard work will really pay off in response to my application.

They’ve required subject tests for a while.

^NoooOOOooo! I hate it when people are sad ):
Internet hug

<(^_^)>

LOL my sad attempt… I’m sorry

Seriously homer, I wouldn’t worry about it. The best thing you can do right now is to write them a letter explaining everything and cross your fingers/pray that all goes well.

YOUR MISSION:
- Eat some ice cream
- Take a bubble bath
- Call up some friends and sob, then go out for a long drive in the dark. Stick your head out the window and scream
- Come home, eat more comfort food
- Watch your favourite movie/show-something that is funny (no, you are not allowed to watch a depressing movie)

… okay I realize that the above mission sounds really girly, but I’m a girl and that’s what I do when I’m super frustrated
GOOD LUCK

FYI - Harvard’s dean of admissions has said he deems the subject test to be more relevant than the SAT I’s in the sense that they are a better measure of aptitude (just reporting here, not sure if I agree). You know that right? Even though I applied to MIT’s Sloan School, a science SAT subject test is still required in addition to my M2 and USH. No exceptions. I was told as much by an admin officer.

^I’ve heard that, too (the part about how SAT IIs are better predictors), but I don’t agree.

Glad you heard it too, but the main takeaway point is that it was from the mouth of Harvard’s Dean of Admissions. What we think is irrelevant.

^hahaha totally. We’re applicants. They’re admissions.
… YUP.

How can you disagree with an objective fact?

^But of course you can disagree with an objective fact :)!

Yup. Well, it’s just my personal opinion (:

Well, you can actually study for SAT II’s. SAT is kind of a mysterious box of potpourri.

You applied to Oxford university in the UK? They released their decisions a while ago. Did you get an offer?

I will find out by Feb 1.

Are you referring to Oxford College at Emory? I got my Emory scholars semi email yesterday, don’t know if the Oxford equivalent comes out around now though.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.
