HELP! Only one SAT subject test!

^ I know that there was specifically one Harvard accepted CCer that year. I kind of recall other odd exceptions my daughter told me about last year, but I would have to ask her again to be certain.

I did say “likely.” :D

After coming back and glancing at some of the posts, I think I should clarify something - I took three subject tests this past winter 2009 / spring of 2010, only the scores are not above 780. I took practice tests out of CB’s book the week before last saturday, and scored perfect on both Maths and Physics. Desperately, I wish I could submit those types of scores to Harvard :(

Ahhh, puppy…

You could have mentioned that before.

Or else you are just making that up to end this thread (in the same way that this thread has ended your Harvard dream)… But of course, as we have heard ample times, Harvard really really wants you cos you are really really awesome!

You are right in some aspects.
This thread has a unicorn - thanks studywiz
It now has a puppy - it’s a pleasure
And since post 1 it has had a nut case.

So did you get accepted to Oxford?

SIGH.

I see two perspectives to these arguments. One side, I understand where Homer is at, where he is stating he has a chance still to get in (which is the truth), and how others are hounding him down. Yes, in a way, the people “attacking” (emphasize the quote) Homer have a point that your chances are very slim. But, at the same time, Homer, you’re sort of asking for that treatment, especially since you’re stating again and again that “THANK GOODNESS MY EXTRACURRICULARS ARE AWESOME” (hyperbole, forgive me if it offends you). I personally believe that you can only claim such thing if you’ve won like World level science olympiad, or was like a winner/finalist in Intel (or one of those crazy competitions).

I just don’t think it is really necessary for people to randomly post, saying that they were “amused” by this thread. By how it seems, it doesn’t seem to be a ■■■■■ post, and I just don’t think it’s right to post such thing.

Anyhow, no need to reply to my post. just stating what i personally thought, and just wish everyone (who applied to harvard) the best of luck.

and @ rainbow… I admire you’re positivity. Life’s tends to have a very gray/black side. Enjoyed seeing a ray of light amongst the darkness (: Keep up that attitude (it will get you far)

@quomodo: Haha, point taken. My Spanish teacher taught me the less than/ fewer thing that at some point (in Spanish form of course). I know very little of what might be called “formal grammar”. I just kind of wing it, trusting that I have developed a decent instinct from excessive reading. Unfortunately, some authors aren’t quite perfect in their grammar either.

I guess this explains why I bombed Spanish III, huh?

@unico–RainbowSprinkles (I kid). From what I understand, schools will notify you of missing stuff at some point and will give you a bit of time to send them in. You can wait it out to that deadline, I suppose. I think sending in your current scores might actually hurt your application a bit…

@homer: …which is why you asked for the two easiest subject tests a couple days before test day.

LOL that clarification undermines the entire debate carried out throughout this thread. It really was an important thing to mention, you know.

CLEARLY, he’s lying. This new information does not match his earlier posts. This person is one of the most insecure and bizarre ■■■■■■ I’ve ever seen.

I’m curious. Why do you refer to Emory as Oxford?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/emory-2014/836515-2014-applicants-3.html#post11890714</a>
Because Emory’s a great school. Just, why?

^ Seconded. I would say Emory… especially since Oxford College of Emory University has a lower mean admission stats than Emory. Also, two of my friends got their Emory-Oxford decision back around Christmas.

The OP is obviously a ■■■■■, or a person stupid enough not to be any competition for the class of 2015. Inconsistencies throughout his posts, lack of critical thinking, extreme boastfulness, and posts littered with errors clearly indicate that we do not need to waste our time feeding him either for his enjoyment or his irrational expectations of comforting posts.

^hell yeaaaaaaaaah

■■■■■ or not, this is all very funny :)

substituent=homer314, by the way. a Harvard '13 mysteriously made an account a day ago… yet the first post he asked was ‘At Harvard, where can I find computers with Windows?’…ahahhhahahah i love this guy seriously. top 3 posters ever.

Who is the '13 poster?

Thanks for the pointer, I Googled “college confidential oxford 2015”

I don’t know if Oxford has rolling admissions or not; I recieved my letter a couple weeks ago.

): oh gosh… I guess I’m this unicorn that some of you speak of? -sigh-

Note: You’re all insane and stressed–including myself.

Regardless, in the off-chance someone actually is looking for help later and stumbles across this thread:

If it wasn’t enough to cancel your first test (were you like eating in the testing room?), then I doubt CB cares enough to pursue it further.

Either way, you NEED two subject tests…there’s really no way to get around that. I don’t think they even look at apps that don’t meet the standard reqs. It’s still be worth calling Harvard to ask, but it doesn’t look too good.

^Yeah, I agree. Call Harvard and ask, but the 2 subject test is a requirement. I don’t think they look at your app if it’s deemed incomplete… no matter what kind of awards you’ve won. Unless you’re a celebrity or a famous athlete, no one will look at your app ): but call them anyway to see if there’s anything you can do.
