i took a chemistry class at a local college and got a B+ for the year. i know that i could have probably gotten an A- if I had worked a bit harder too. So, will the fact that i got a B make colleges think i won’t work to my potential and can’t handle college well, or will instead they think B+ is really good for a high schooler who is stretching herself by taking a college level course?

It will help. People who got straight A's in high school don't necessarily continue to get straight A's in college anyway. The main thing is that it shows you are challenging yourself.

Not much difference between B+ and A-. Pay attention to the big picture, not nitpicking details.
