Hi All,
As mentioned in the title, I will be officially out of school in two weeks. There’s a lot I need and want to do (personally and academically) and I feel overwhelmed because there’s just too much! It seems like because I have so much freedom, I don’t know what I want to do.
It would be particularly appreciated if experienced CCers could share their thoughts! I will create a PM group to share additional information, I’m simply not comfortable publically and permanently sharing too much private information.
My school wants us to use our free time to complete an independent research project over the span of three months until graduation in late May. I currently have a stable internship, however, I want to branch out and do something different, possibly science research at my local university or humanities research which is something I’m really interested in. However, I don’t know if I can or should balance so many separate things. I want to use this time effectively (meaning I can make a meaningful impact) however I also want to use the time to explore my diverse interests to ensure I go into college with a better sense of what I want to do.
At the same time, I want to fill my personal goals such as spending more time with friends, being social, exercising etc which will all require money. This might mean that I will need to get a part time or full time job, especially if my parents aren’t willing to pay for these “unnecessary” costs.
Finally, I was nominated to apply for quite a prestigious scholarship, but its really LONG (many, many, many essays along with a recommendation) and there’s no monetary prize…I could be using the time to write other scholarship essays. Should I do it? Of course I would regret it if I didn’t but I know I have such a low chance of recieving it because it’s so competitive.
Thank you!
