HELP! out of stater

Sorry about another chances post, but I just wanted the perspectives of people more familiar with Stanford. Do I honestly have a chance regular decision out of state? Thanks a lot for your time and good luck to everyone!

Most of my time has been dedicated to athletics and academics; subsequently, I have a fair amount of awards, and I would love to TRY (keyword: try) to walk-on the basketball team at Stanford.

What do you think my chances are? Thank you very much for your time, and I truly appreciate your help!

hmmm i think you do have a chance, especially if you're awesome in basketball. i know for a fact that Stanford values athletics a lot more than other selective schools, and if you're good enough to be on the team, then you have great chances of acceptance.

Thanks paulhomework! Anyone else??? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Is English not your native language? Is that why you have such a gap brw math and verbal SATs?

Ha ha!!! I wish! No, I just don't have a very strong vocabulary honestly. I mean, I can understand what I read, and I tend to have a good grasp on grammar, which is why my reading and english scores on the ACT are much better than my verbal on the SAT, but I just struggle with does dang analogies and sentence completion type stuff. Thanks for your inquiry. Anyone/anything else??? Thanks again.

I wish i had stats like yours :(. Did u send in your application already?

No, not yet (applying regular decision). Thanks for everyone's comments once again. Anyone/anything else???

bump, anyone else???

Your EC's and academics both look pretty strong. Maybe get your SAT score up and that will improve your chances. Good luck!

Thanks a lot!!! Does anyone else have any comments on my chances or anything else to mention. Thanks again for your time and good luck to everyone!

Got my Oct. ACT score back and received a 32. Considering the fact that I will probably be trying to walk-on the basketball team, it probably will have no effect on my admissions. Do you think I have a chance regular decision, or should I consider applying elsewhere. Thanks a lot and good luck to all!

go regular, you can do it. your stats look great, and your SAT is your only weak point, and that is what they give the most slack in.

Thanks a lot. Your comments gave me more confidence.

you dont need to worry about being out of state... stanford isnt a state school.
