help picking campus

of the UC's, I'm applying to UCLA & Berkeley but wanted to apply to one last safe school.
I was considering UCSD but got confused with the diff campuses. Anyone have any opinions on which campus is also good to apply to?

My major is communications btw and I'm pretty certain that all of the uc campuses offer it. tho i didnt check for Irvine.

Thanks! your advice will be seriously considered. :)

santa cruz and riverside don’t offer it, santa barbara and san diego does, but i think the comm department at san diego is a little bit different, visit the campus to see if you like it

If you were to rank the UCs it would probably go like this: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB/UCD, UCSC, UCI/R, then UC Merced.

^ I can’t speak for the current situation but in '06 I recall Irvine outranking Davis and it was supposedly on an upward trend.

UC Ranks:

Berkeley
UCLA
UC San Diego
UCI/UCSB/UCD
UC Santa Cruz
UC Riverside
UC Merced

It has remained like this for as long as I can remember, and UCI/UCSB/UCD have always competed each other for the fourth best campus with one outranking another every year.

As for the OP, we need to know your gpa to see how you fare with chances of getting into each UCs to determine how far down you should go with the Campuses. If your GPA is 3.8 or above, I say UCSD is a good enough safety and no need to spend money on applying for other campuses.

apply to the college that’s suitable to you. you might not be able to thrive in an environment you don’t like. Think about it like this: if i get into this college, would i be okay with myself, the future, job prospects, etc.
