Our school can’t really pick the classes we want. The office organize this schedule and we have to fit in the schedule. So I’m just wondering if i should take AP stat or AP cal AB or BC. Also for history should I take AP US history or AP world history. If I take AP stat I can take AP US history but if I take AP AB or BC I have to take AP world history. Also for AP Cal AB the teacher is strict and hard(Test is worth 80% of your whole semester grade which can mess you up if you bomb the test) but AP Cal BC is easy ( even if you get 50% on quiz and test you can get B- if you do all your classwork and homework).lastly, is it better to take all 6 classes or 5 classes and have a free period (Teacher assistant, which you really do nothing).
AP Calc AB/BC is harder than AP Stats, BC is easier than AB. AP US and World are sort of the same, but AP world is a bit easier because you don’t really have to remember specific dates. In my school, AP Calc/AP World are 11th and 12th grade classes while AP Stats and AP US are 10th/11th grade classes.
Depends on you want to study perhaps later in college. If your going into a math/science stem field take calc BC (and um calc BC is on twice is much material as calc AB, so it’s supposed to be harder, unless it’s scaled to be easier at your school with nicer teachers than AB). AP US is SOO easy if you have a interest in history/social studies. AP world is supposed to be harder (it has the lowest number of “5s” on the AP exam than any other humanity course) but not really that different style wise from US just different content. US tends to be easier if you live in the US because a lot of it is familiar info (and most HSs across the country have it as a graduation requirement, don’t know if that applies for you). AP stats is easier math than calc, but it’s more language based and overall isn’t harder or easier than calculus, just different. If you’d be overwhelmed in 5 APs take the free period. 6 APs is a lot of work so I’d be sure you can handle it bc you don’t want to be getting bad grades near the end if HS for colleges (I’m assuming this is for your junior or senior year or something right?).
Thx for your advice I will take AP cal but if I take AP cal then I need to take AP world history because the schedule doesn’t match up for AP cal with AP USH :(.
But are you sure that BC is easier than AB?
BC under normal conditions ISN’T easier than AB. It’s the equivalent of two semesters of calculus-- the AP exam covers all the material of AB plus extra stuff like Taylor series, Integration by parts, etc. Now perhaps it might be curved to be easier at your school since it is such a hard class, but in general you should know the material is harder.
