Help picking IGETC classes...

whats up guys, i need help picking some IGETC courses

I've completed Criminal Justice 101, Math 140, English 101, Political Sciene 101

What are a few more interesting courses? Psychology?

What is the best science course to pick?

What's your major?

Anthropology classes are pretty simple.

I honestly have no major, i want to take like a career test and see what i would like to do for a living

I see. Just make sure your classes fulfill the IGETC. I am not too sure about Criminal Justice 101...

btw what CCC do you go to?

Illicitx- I still suggest doing more than just a career test. I don't think they're terribly worthwhile or accurate.

That said, sociology, psychology, and poli sci classes are fairly safe bets for most non-science or math majors.

Agreed with Allie...career tests are generally useless.

I think the best way to explore interests is through the classes themselves.

In particular, I would suggest taking classes not traditionally offered in high schools (psychology, anthro, soci, film studies, creative writing etc). I have found psychology classes to be extremely interesting so much so that I considered majoring in it for a while and ended up tutoring biopsy in my school tutoring lab. Also, if you are a guy, psych classes tend to be disproportunately female (I can tell you there's nothing better than a class teeming w/ intelligent women) :)

There is definitely a huge female majority in psych and soc type classes.

QUICK POLL:

Which IGETC course do you think is the most fun:

1.) Sociology
2.) Psychology
3.) Anthropology
4.) Philosophy
5.) Poli. Science
6.) Communication Studies
7.) Foreign Language (Spanish, French, German, Italian, Latin, etc.)
8.) Science courses (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, Geology, etc)
9.) Mathematics (Collge Alg., Trig., Pre-Calc, Calc, Stat, etc)
10.) Art (Drawing & Painting, Music, Dance, Cinema, theatre, photography, etc.)
11.) History
12.) Others

Personally, I think Psychology is the best.

Philosophy, hands down. well, it depends on the professor. Then German.

Foreign Language is my fav out of the ones you mention

as mentioned above, WHATS THE BEST SCIENCE COURSE TO TAKE? Since I'll have nothing to do with science, which subject involves the least math and is generally known to be easier?

just look at stuff that fulfills the requirement. for example, instead of taking physics or chem i took geology aka rocks for jocks.

Anthropology is my favorite. Its hollistic approach encompasses sociology, poli sci, a little bit of psychology, linguistics, and biology.

Comm at the lower division level is boring and pointless. So not that.

My film and photo history courses were my favorite IGETC fillers. By far.

I'm taking two history courses starting this Fall. Trying to finish one textbook before the semester starts!
