Help planning visit

We have a tour scheduled for Friday, October 12. We will arrive late Thursday night and stay through Sunday. DD is 90% sure that UA will be her choice and we aren’t sure when we will be bale to make it back so I want to make sure we see/experience as much as possible. What other things do we need to do aside from the tour? Will there be places to watch the game on Saturday? Other activities that will help her make her decision?

Granted, my D is a junior so we’ve done a lot of the typical college activities, but we’re coming for a visit during the same time and this is what she suggested might be fun:

We decided to focus on things D would have access to easily as a hypothetical freshman with no car (we aren’t planning on sending her down with one right away) when we visited. Every inch of campus, residential areas near campus for the off-campus housing feel, Downtown T Town, the Strip, Riverwalk, and the malls just out of town (assuming she could ride with friends once in a while) were the main parts of our trip. I doubt a local park/rec area/regional theater would sway our D as she wouldn’t likely go as a student (but maybe with us when we visit). Campus and general area, restaurants and stores, running paths, bus routes, etc. were what made her decision for her.

Some of the answers can be found here…

If your DD is interested in sorority recruitment I would call the Office of Greek Life and arrange for a Greek ambassador to do a tour as well. If you need info about recruitment or sorority life pm me :). I would watch the game at Buffalo Phils on the Strip but it will also be on at Buffalo Wild wings on MacFarland and probably Baumhowers wings (which is right next to your hotel). since your DD will most likely be in the Honors college you might ask Allison if there is going to be some sort of a tailgate/watch party for the Honors College kids and could y’all join in. that would give her a feel of the that group (should be a very positive thing!)
There’s lots to do and see…make sure you visit The Shirt Shop (525 Greensboro Ave…it’s downtown) for one of their famous one pocket shirt (buy it 1 size too big  ) and they are also selling these great beaded bracelets that a lot of the girls (and moms…I bought 4 more this weekend) are wearing…they also have great dresses and game day wear. Have a great time!!!
