Help. Please chance me. I'm unfamiliar with the US school system.

Hi guys. I am currently a junior. I take AP Biology, AP Physics, and AP Calculus. All of my other classes are honors. My academic GPA (this is how my school does it) is 99.864 unweighted. I took the PSATs and got 63 CR 72 M 64W. I didn't really study for them. Over winter break, I studied for 10-12 hours per day for the SATs and I've been getting solid 2100s. I'm taking the test in a few weeks and I know I'll get at least a 2200 by then. I want to join the Rutgers BS/MD program which is a 7 yr program to become a Dr. Or I want to go to UPenn or Princeton. I am the head of a math club and several other mentoring clubs. I am in NHS. I volunteer regularly at a hospital. I am probably getting an internship at a research lab over the summer. I am in the quiz bowl club and Odyssey of the Mind. I am a state ranked Varsity track distance runner. I am a starting midfielder for the soccer team as well. My teachers also like me very well so they'll probably give me good recommendations. My class rank is 10/192, and after my AP classes go in I'll probably be in the top 5. I do lots of community service (Over 350 hours a year). I am also very dedicated to my dream of becoming a doctor.
Sorry I've been jumping all around, but I'm in a hurry.
So please let me know if I can get in guys. And tell me why. Also please let me know if there is anything I can so to improve anything. Thanks so much in advance.

It is very difficult to chance anyone for competitive schools since the admissions rate is so small. Also being an international puts another level of uncertainty on the process. Understand that makes any replies just a guessing game.

The Rutgers program is only open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

UPenn: Reach
Princeton: Reach
Rutgers BSc/MD: Safety (you do not formally apply to the program until the end of sophomore year, which requires you to maintain 3.5+ by that point)

Thanks @Brownparent
I just recently became a permanent resident. I don’t have any family members that went to school here and all of the kids at my school are aiming for state colleges at the most, because their family members are lab researchers or professors there. I wouldn’t be considered an international student.

Thanks @Catria
So I apply PreMed for Rutgers and then apply for the program two years later? I know I can maintain a good GPA, so do you think I have a chance?

[BA/MD NJMS](<a href=“Error Page”>BA/MD New Jersey Medical School)

What verdict I gave really amounted to a chance for SAS…

Hey @Catria
I was looking at this. It says high school seniors, and has different criteria than the link that you put up.

[BA/MD Program (NJMS-NWK): Applying | Rutgers?Newark Colleges of Arts & Sciences](http://www.ncas.rutgers.edu/oas/bamd-program-nwk-applying)

Is it the same thing you were talking about?

Btw @Catria what does SAS mean?

SAS is a college within Rutgers-New Brunswick…

Rutgers-Newark BA/MD: Reach

Oh ok @Catria
Thanks so much. That cleared up a lot! :)

Someone feel free to correct me if i’m wrong, but I thought being an international actually made it easier to get to top schools like Princeton/Penn because they don’t have to extend financial aid to internationals (for most cases).

Princeton has among the BEST fin aid for internationals. No international applicant has favored status among any of the competitive schools because overseas, the “name” schools carry a premium and this it drives wild numbers of applicants. With soft quotas on international admits, it’s the single worse applicant pool as far as chances go.

But OP is now a permanent resident and thus qualifies for the much more favorable Domestic pool.
