MY GPA IS 2.2 out of 4.0
and my class ranking is 153-168

i don’t want to be the ■■■■■■■■■ that sounds mean, but it’s better than being unrealistic and setting you up for something that might not happen, Honestly my true opinion no bs is that you have a chance but it’s a longshot, it’s pretty tough to get into a 4 year university with a 2.2, however if you raise your first semester grades senior year to like a 2.5 and do well on your SAT or ACT, im thinkin at least 1850 on the SAT and 26 on your ACT and those schools would definitely consider taking you, you have a chance but it’s a longshot and not a guarantee

I don’t know much about the schools you’re applying to but hope with good SAT scores and essays it is a possibility. maybe like you can seem like you are interested in university in your application, something like that. i can’t say for sure because of a low GPA.

And also I agree with

This.

Don’t be discouraged. There are a lot of 4 year schools which would be thrilled to have someone with a 2.2. There are A LOT of colleges out there.

Here are some less/least selective four year schools in Texas alone:

Angelo State
College of St. Thomas Moore
Huston-Tillotson University
Jarvis Christian College
Lamar University
McMurray U
Our Lady of the Lake U
Prairie View A& M
Schreiner U
Stephen F, Austin State U
Sull Ross State U
Tarleton State U
Texas A & M (Laredo, Corpus Christi, Kingsville, or Commerce)
UT Brownsville, Permian Basin, Edinburg, San Antonio or El Paso
Wiley College

95% of Texas State in San Marcos and 88% of Texas Tech admits come from the top half of the class. There is no reason that they can’t be reach schools. Perhaps you have some interesting EC’s, or are a really cool kid that rec’s could expand upon. That could make it possible - perhaps. Just make sure you have a good number of real matches, and a couple definites.

You can always start some place, and armed with motivation and self-awareness about how you need to do things differently (Do you have an undiagnosed learning disability? Do you need to just brush up on study skills?), get great grades and transfer.

Check out the book There is No Such Thing as a Lazy Child By Mel Levine.

There are some community colleges out there which have arrangements with four year state schools. You perform, and they will probably let you in after getting an AA.

A girl from my high school had a completely non-academic high school experience. She went to a no name college and graduated at the top of her class. She then performed in a steller fashion in her work, and was able to get a master’s degree from Harvard.

It’s a great country.

try ASU–it accepts 95% of its applicants

What is so bad about junior college? You would probably be better off going to JUCO and getting good grades so you could transfer into a school like Texas Tech. I’d verify with Texas Tech that this is possible, but I don’t see why not.

As for now, I agree that the SAT is key. Also, do what you can to improve your GPA.

what is a 2.2 out of 100

77?

Are you saying this because you fear being stigmatised, or because you know that would not be good for your life?

Community college isn’t a bad place to start getting better grades. You can always transfer… Getting a 70ish grade on PE makes me worried.

Essays. ECs. Recommendations.

There are 4-year-schools that will take you, but they will tend to be 4th tier schools.

My advice is: if you don’t get accepted anywhere you like, go to community college (there are good ones!). Get a grip on your academic philosophy. Get external help. Excel. Transfer.

Your health science and technology programmes make me curious – those specialised courses would have been redeeming had you gotten good grades in them.

How do you get a C in physical education? You cant even handle easy courses.. idk man..

and is that 24 in that pharmacy class out of 100?

you are probably not on the right track for a&m…lower the bar a bit. try applying to some of the less popular UT campuses.

hmm, I’m pretty sure you still have a chance, probably a good chance, at Texas State. That school is renowned for being a party school. I can’t say anything for its academics though. How many people go to your school? A&M is nowhere near as hard to get in as UT and they usually accept people that are around top 15%. I know of people that have gotten in with that kind of rank. Also, there’s always UTSA, you can try and do the CAP program, where you can transfer to UT after one year at UTSA
