Help please! Fundraiser-related issue...

Hey guys,

Since I will be going into the medical field (I'm currently a high school sophomore), I was planning on starting a fund raiser in order to raise money for diseases such as cancer, AIDS, .etc (haven't decided which yet). Here's my problem: who the heck do I turn in the money to?! If I start such a fund raiser and go around and take donations, where can I turn that money in so that I know it will be going towards a medical cause?

Thanks,
Krynzen

huh? that's quite an unexpected question.

dude, learn more abt ur local health care instit. and then, contact with them. You can do stuffs in rotary and soo many other organizations in ur local area. Red cross or just public hospital: all are very reliable places!

If u live in an urban city, a research insit. that's doing particular work! consult HOSA (if there's not one in ur school, there should be one around ur town or something)

hope u won't have any more trouble in finding a reliable place!

You know, it's highly probable that you won't want to go into medicine when you get to college. Just a warning.

But anyways. Try to find some specific organizations that gather money for cancer/AIDS research. Contact them. Most will probably have fundraising materials ready for you. And invent a gimmick. You can't just go around asking people for money.

well, I don't think any HSer would actually care. In general, a big chunk of HSers are like, "I'm going to ___ College and become a cardiovascular surgeon or radiologist" as if it's already destined for them. I doubt whether that warning is necessary since no HSers (again in general) wud care who said what!

Yea, as rocker said, no body wud give u money if u just go around asking for money. It just doesn't work. Also, they'd want to make checks payable to certain organizations. So, be prepared formally with legalities and stuffs.
