To start of, I recently got accepted into UCLA and Berkeley with the majors stated above. Currently, I’m living San Diego. by myself ( I’m an international student). Moving is not a big problem for me. I really want to make the best out of the last two years in college. It is crazy to think about how choosing a college can change your life such as the people you are going to meet, the professors you will take, the opportunities you can get, and so on. Honestly, I can’t see myself doing any wrong with choosing either schools. Both schools are well known with their economics department. In term of prestige, it seems like Berkeley is just a little bit over LA. I do like economics but I prefer something like accounting or finance more, which makes it is so hard to choose. I know that Econ major at Cal is more theory based. Any advice would be deeply appreciated. Thank you for reading and have a great day.
P/s I haven’t visited both campuses so I guess I would have a clearer picture after visiting both schools.
My first suggestion would be to visit both campuses and the respective departments, and see if you like either better.
And of course you are right, you can’t go wrong with either school. Congratulations!
