help please...is this courseload too much?

sorry for another one of these, lol

i'm gonna be a freshman in the fall and i was thinking about taking:
chem 1a
math 1a
asian american studies 20a (breadth-historical studies)
asian american studies R2b (2nd half of reading and comp requirement)

that'll be 16 units in total. will taking both asian american classes at the same time be crazy? is it too much reading? i was thinking maybe i should take gender and women's studies R2b instead of asamst, in case that would be too much asian studies for me, lol. i'm really worried, and not sure what to take....

the classes are different, in r2b you read books written by asian american authors(not necessarily about asians per se). i believe the other one is more historical? (never took it). it wouldn't be too much reading, as you have two techs. this is a good amount of coursework for first semester. i've taken aasr2b, but not 20a. r2b was easy. 5 books total for the semester, two essays during the semester, one final paper. each paper 5 pages, final paper 7+. never took 20a, but i've heard it is very easy and a good 1st semester class to take.
