Help Please - Overseas Applicant

This will be our first post in this forum. It has been very useful to read the commentary so far to gain better understanding of the private schools in US. We are from NZ, but currently posted to Dubai. My son, has always studied at independent schools in NZ, Australia and UAE. Now he is planning to go to one of the fine schools on the east coast - preferably Choate, Commonwealth or Exeter.

He has taken his ISEE test and his results were - Stanine 9 - 98% on Mathematics Achievement, Stanine 8 - 92% on Verbal Reasoning, Stanine 7 - 87% on Reading Comprehension, Stanine 5 - 59% on Quantitative Reasoning.

He has always been a good student with smattering of As and Bs throughout his middle school. He also plays violin (passed ABRSM 4 test), Scuba Diving (Padi Certified), Tennis (school team), Squash and Swim (Squad). He has been in community service programme for the last 3 years working in Brunei, Philippines and Turkey during summer holidays.

We are not applying for Financial Aid.

Can anyone help us understand our chances with the chosen schools?

Many thanks for your help.
Merry Xmas All.

Have u visited the schools?

Yes. Indeed a hectic trip visiting 10 schools in 2 weeks.
These are the schools we selected after the trip and interviews.

Then I think w his kiwi nationality & expat experiences on top of a solid academic & extracurricular profile, he has a good shot.

Thanks GMTplus7. Fingers crossed
