So, its summer time now and I'm going into my senior year. I never took the SAT before, but my PSAT score was a 148.. Terrible I know :( So its half way through July, and I haven't started studying for the SAT and I feel absolutely terrible. I wanted to prove everyone and myself wrong that I can do it and get a score of 2000+ by studying for quite a few hours per day. But because of procrastination and a lot of problems with insomnia and not getting much sleep I haven't been able to do it. But I want to now.. So what I'm asking is: Do you think I have enough time to raise my terrible score significantly for the October test? And I'm also taking the ACT in September.. Oh my god. Please help.

You still have plenty of time, don’t worry.
I’m taking the sat in October and what I’m doing is taking the math portion of a practice test one day, the writting the next, and then the reading. Then as time goes by, I’ll probably take like a full test so I can get used to the long sittings . Another thing you might want to do is register for sat classes. Some are really expensive but I heard a lot of people said is worth it. Your school might offer some classes for much less than other programs so you might want to check in to that.
That’s pretty much it. Good luck o. The SAT, and I hope you get the 2000+ score you want.

Stop fretting and start studying! Don’t worry about the time you’ve wasted, but focus on the time you have left before the test. The more you brood over the time, the more you’ll feel regret and I guess some anger for procrastinating (from personal experience… sigh).

Start knowing what areas you’re strong in and what areas you’re weak in. For areas that you’re strong in, don’t neglect them but make sure those areas stay consistent and remain your strengths.
For weaknesses, start looking at other CC threads on how to prepare for the SAT, buying the appropriate test prep books, studying the material (from vocabulary to grammar rules and to those tricky questions in math), and taking practice tests. It’s okay because you’ll get through it!
If it gets too rough and you can afford spending some money, get a tutor! Otherwise, definitely think about looking at these other threads, PM-ing other people for their advice, and studying.
I have absolutely no idea about the ACT though. Actually, why are you taking both? Usually, schools only require one.

Good luck! :)
