HELP PLEASE!!!! Should I pick Penn?

I have to choose between Penn and Johns Hopkins.

I probably will major in Biochemistry, but I would also like to take classes in other areas, and not feel that the school is lacking. As I'm not too sure of my major, I don't want the college to be too science oriented. I might even want to double major in psychology.

I'm having a hard time figuring out which of those to choose, because they are both located in great cities; and because they are both obviously very prestigious colleges.

Can anyone help me? Personal anecdotes are welcome. Thanks!

I’m planning on majoring in Biochemistry too. Penn makes it pretty easy to double major, and the College is definitely not too “sciency”. Penn seems to be more well-rounded than JHU in that they have so many non-science/pre-med students. On the Biochemistry major webpage, they even have sample schedules based on how much science you want:

I’m not sure about the JHU Biochemistry major, but I know that Penn’s Biochemistry major focuses more on the chemistry part than the biology part. JHU will likely be more biology-focused, but I don’t know much about it.

Pick PENN!!!

haha well tell me why, itsinreach!

Well, first of all, Philadelphia > Baltimore.

And you sound like you would enjoy the interdisciplinary focus at Penn!

If you want to do interdisciplinary, Penn is top!
