please dont laugh but i prob did the stupides thing tonight

i didnt realize that commonapp.org goes by eastern time so half of my submissions as listed as 1/2/2011 when they were due on 1/1/2011.
it allowed me to submit, but when i went back to the main page, it lists half of my submissions as 1/2/2011.
is it too late? will the colleges revoke my application? please help!

Hi, I did the exact same thing! And I think I about had a panic attack.
My mom was upset, saying “How Could you do that!?”, but like you, I honestly just did not realize that it recorded in EST!
(I thought I had read something saying it recorded in PST also so I was convinced I had until midnight). I live in WA state, by the way.
Anyways, I am freaking out. My top choice is Dartmouth and I COULD HAVE submitted before 9pm but I was just rereading my essay for the millionth time so I waited til 10.
I have searched internet posts for the last hour and wish I could find a definitive answer.
I have emailed each college and I plan to call on Monday, but I feel sick to my stomach if all this work has been for nothing.
I realized the CommonApp was recording 01/02/2011 somehow before I supmitted the applications, and so I managed to put into my additional information the point that I had submitted before midnight West Coast time zone. . . .

3 things:
a) I am a little relieved that it says “Most colleges will accept the submission if it is within a reasonable time period around their deadline,” but it still says MOST colleges.
b) I read on a post that someone who had been accepted to their applied school had had the same problem, (technically applied late by EST) but the application was still received
c) I also have read that, so long as the common app accepts your application, you are okay. But I don’t know if that is true, because it seems as if people submit late supplements (on accident) all the time…

Anyways, sorry this is such a long post but I have a lot of questions/concerns.

My Dartmouth Application says that the college has downloaded (even on Jan 2nd) my teacher recommendations, my counselor review/midyear report, and my NACAC fee waiver…
I am hoping this is a good sign!
