Help Please! Very Confused!

I completed my IGCSE (O'levels) in the year 2004 in the following 6 subjects.
Business studies, English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Education.

I then completed my GED in the year 2006 as I did poorly in my AS levels in 2005.

So what I'd like to know is that will I stand a chance to get into any university in the States or Canada? Or do I have a better chance to go to a community college first and then transfer to a 4 year institution. What would be my best shot?

If and when I apply to a uni/college will they be asking me why I have had a gap of 3 years?

If anyone could provide me a link to any good site which lists community colleges or universities with a high acceptance rate I would be grateful.

And also is there a necessity for me to do both the SAT and TOEFL tests
or would just the TOEFL be sufficient? As I had Earned an A in my IGCSE English.

Thanks!

Grades? Extracurriculars? Financial status?

You need the SAT, and may need SAT II's as well, depending on where you plan on applying to.

And: what would you like in a college? Big or small? LAC or research uni? California or New Hampshire? We need a lot more information, bud!

Business studies: C
English: A
Mathematics: C
Chemistry: C
Physics: B
Physical Education: C

Captain of school soccer and basketball team.

Interested in pursuing Business management.

Anywhere in California, New York, Massachusetts, Washington, Florida.

Preferably a large school as in number of students, not as in ranking.

I was advised by someone to go to a community college first as they arent that selective and might accept me, then after completing electives transfer to a 4 year instituition.

Will you need fin aid?

Financial aid would help but isn't imperative.
