I have just been accepted to UCDavis and it's currently my top choice...one major problem: in my planned course in the January update, I stated that I would be taking Statistics in the Spring, however all the classes with decent teachers were full so I couldn't take it...

Will I be rescinded because I didn't take my planned course?

My question is: after you tell them your updated course that you are currently taking...how long does it take to process/will they tell you if you are rescinded? (sorry, i hope this makes sense
I don't want to submit my SIR for Davis and find out that I've been rescinded when I could have chosen Irvine and be outta community college.

I'm asking this because it will help me choose which school to attend (UCD or UCI). UCI will allow me to take it over the summer.

Also, my major is not impacted.

is UCDavis strict on these changes in your course?! anyone hear have been rescinded/know ppl who got rescinded from UCD?

thanks for reading; any help will be appreciated!

IF you need it as part of your IGETC Math requirement and i believe the general transfer requirement then you are in fact screwed

ALSO it’s untrue about irvine allowing completion of math and english requirements before transfer

[University of California - Admissions](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/paths_to_adm/transfer/tr_adm_r/tr_adm_r_deadlines.html)

it clearly states here
Required English and math must be completed by the spring term. Admission priority is given to applicants who complete the 60-unit minimum by the spring term.

I’ve already competed math for IGETC by taking Calculus

well when you report your changes to UC Davis it says that they will respond back to you within 7-14 days if there is a problem.

Then it’s less clear what the consequences will be. I’d call Davis and find out.

suck it up and take the class with the non-decent teachers

^ I agree, that’s a really poor excuse. Unless you really mean they’re poor teachers. In my experience, however, when a CCCer says a teacher isn’t good it’s because that teacher actually challenges their students.

^thats the kind of teachers that i hate!

Thanks for the responses!

They are really poor teachers! The teacher I was gonna take had pop quizzes + exams! No excuse, I’m pretty terrible @ math, so I couldn’t risk not passing. I just gotta hope I won’t be rescinded now!

O since you’ve taken calculus i doubt it would matter then.

Normally humanities major save stats for the last semester but if that isn’t the case you should be fine

I’m in a similar situation, I dropped a course (not a math requirement), emailed them, and over a week later they still haven’t said anything, so I think I’m in the clear

Email them. If you took Calculus, you shouldn’t have trouble at Failsticksticks. I think of Stats as an alternative for people who underachieve at math on purpose. Calculus A is easier, funner and you get a better understanding of the behavior of functions. And if you passed that, you would have no problem in Stats. Stats is binomial theorem and other basic functions you learn about in Calculus.

You should’ve sucked it up though. Email them, tell them you’re taking it in the summer and that the classes were full. You finished Calculus so technically you finished a UC level math.

thanks for the responses

Does anyone know where I can find the email address/what it is?

There should be a link somewhere on your MyAdmissions page.

If not, here’s the admissions advisory phone number. They can direct you to who you need to talk to.

PM me if you have any other questions.
