i already applied to Umich and i attached my own resume. When I listed positions held in my activities, I failed to mention dates i held the positions! will they think im completely lying/ inflating my leadership? im really nervous now:((

Nah dude, they won’t really care about your EC’s in the first place unless it’s something really significant.

ok, thanks, hopefully i’ll trust your word on that. do you have all your app stuff set?

^ I sent everything in, but they haven’t received it all yet =]

Michigan definitely cares about EC’s but I wouldn’t worry about your resume

Same with a lot of my awards…I dont remember what date i received awards 2 years ago, lol

No, they definitely don’t care. If your stats are borderline and you did something significant, then they could help, but if you have good stats, EC’s don’t matter at all.

An admissions officer told me that they want to see that you were very involved in at least one activity and had some kind of leadership.

I don’t agree, do you have any justification?

I think it matters to some extent, but its not a huge deal. It probably helps a ton if they’re comparing to very similar applicants

I think any college admissions officer will say they want to see you involved…They wouldn’t say “we don’t really care if you were involved with leadership” but at the same time they probably don’t put too much weight into it

Yeah i agree with you, EC’s are not the most important thing but in terms of EC’s thats what they want to see
