I am a hispanic girl, who is the first in my family to attend college. My parents immigrated from Mexico 20 years ago, and have nothing over high school education. Yet, they have been the best parents I could ask for.

I plan on majoring in political science. I am very passionate about everything that I do, or else I would not be dong it. After doing research, I find that Columbia or Harvard best fit my personality. I like to dream big. But i want other people's opinions.
Do you feel that I have a shot?
Any tips that you are willing to give me as I go about tackling a plethora of essays?
... Really, tips are greatly appreciated. My parents and I are just learning about how this all works, and I don't want to let lack of information keep me reaching my dream.

Any help would be appreciated :)

???

Unless you have extraordinary essay/recommendations, its difficult. 620 whose
percentile is 40th is very poor, extremely.

As hispanic, sat I can be considered fine if you can manage 2100.

Your ECs are fine, though.

do you feel that my Math 2 score can be a reason why I wouldn’t get accepted to some schools?
My essays are coming out pretty good. I feel that the topics are quite atypical.

What did you end up getting on the retaken SAT?

Don’t get your hopes up too high if you can’t break 2200

First-generation URM? Then yes of course you have a great chance to get into Harvard or any of the ivies.

Obviously try to score as high as you can on SAT, but with your background and Schoolwork/EC’s, you could easily get in with a low 2000
