Help Please

I live in New York and I am a junior in high school. I’ve been looking at colleges and this one really grabbed my attention. There are some things i’d like to know though…

1) What is admissions looking for?
2) Is it important to have a lot of volunteer hours?
3) Is a 3.7 GPA good enough?
4) What is life on campus like?
5) How far is the closest beach?
6) Is it a diverse community?

2.) Is it important to have volunteering hours?
I am a freshman right now. And when I applied I would say I had little to none volunteering hours but I did do 3 sports so dont know if that cocompensated for that
3) Is a 3.7 GPA good enough?
Depends on your major you want to apply for
4) What is life on campus like?
Campus life is awesome. For the most part everyone is near the campus and downtown is always an awesome place to spend time with your friends. Now We arent the biggest party school but you still like to party there is still enough to be satisfied. Also make sure to join a club or maybe club sports team (great way to meet people)
5) How far is the closest beach?
Closest beach is Morro Bay about 10 to 15 minutes away
6) Is it a diverse community?
If you are looking for diversity in race, there isnt much here. Heavly white. But as of diversity it people, there is a group of people for about any type of person

I gave a more vague answers to some of these but if you have any specifics just message me. Also for Q #1 I dont really know to much on criteria of the admissions office went through.

The admissions is heavily focused on GPA and ACT/SAT scores, there is no essay, and extracurriculars play a small role.

Here’s a link to a Cal Poly students senior project which attempted to explain the break down for Cal Poly admissions. http://digitalcommons.calpoly.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1014&context=statsp
