I am a junior in high school from New York and I am really interested in this college and I wanted to know a few things...

What is the criteria like for admissions?

Do you need a lot of volunteer hours?

Is a 3.7 GPA unweighted, good enough?

What is campus like?

Where is the closest beach?

Is it a diverse community?

How is the swim program?

Is it big on school spirit?

What is something that makes the school unique?

Very competitive.

It helps.

That’s what I have and I got in. But it depends on the difficulty of the classes you are taking.

Big. Old. Charming. Renovated. Has more of a northern feel than the rest of Florida.

There’s sort of one on campus at Lake Alice. But your about 2 hours away from any decent Gulf or Atlantic beaches.

97% of students come from Florida. I don’t know about racial diversity off the top of my head. You could probably look on their site.

Not sure. Again, look at their website.

Saying yes is an understatement.

It’s the best school in the state. It has a ton of school spirit. Once again, just snoop around on their site and I’m sure you’ll find something.

bella8295-- The response from heybails just about nails it. With regard to #9,
the University of Florida is a member of the Association of American Universities,
an elite group of state and private research I (one) schools-- a big deal among
academics etc. In the southeast there are only 4 such AAU schools- Duke, Vanderbilt,
University of Florida and recently Georgia Tech. Membership is by invitation only.
