Help please!!!

I’m an international student. In my country, we only have Toefl PBT test which I did on 12 Nov but haven’t received my score yet.
My SAT is 1380 : 610RW and 770M
SAT subject: 780 Math level 2 and 720 physics
I won a bronze medal in the international chemistry olympiad this year.
I also participated in 2015 but didn’t get any medal.
I know I have a low SAT score, but compared to my country I have a good score.
All the universities I’m applying to don’t require the Toefl like Duke, Brown, Harvard and Williams. And even if i wanted to send my toefl scores i won’t be able to do until the deadline pass.
I’m worried if I got something between 550 and 600 that the universities I sent my scores to, won’t even look to my application.
I sent my scores to Yale and MIT. I’m really worried about Yale because it was my top choice and they don’t even require the toefl but they have a minimum off 600. And Yale don’t have any student from my country so I was thinking that I may have a chance.
I’m asking if the toefl is a hard cutoff considering that it’s not even requierd.

Most schools have some sort of TOEFL cut off in mind, even if they don’t announce it. The measure is used to determine whether the student can do the work that’s required of them at that school.

The school wants to create a community of happy scholars. A scholar that can’t keep up with the reading or understand the lectures will not be happy.

That being said, you should probably find other schools to apply to. Yale is notoriously hard to get into even with perfect stats. Your stats are not perfect. There are far more students with perfect stats than there are spaces at Yale.

The USA has 2000+ schools, most of which will provide a very good education.

Best wishes.

Agree with the above post. It is unlikely you will get into any of those schools. You have Williams on your list. Look at some of the other LACs, like Oberlin, Bates, Lafayette, and so on. However, you have precious little time to get your transcripts and recommendations to those colleges now.
