Help please!

Would any of the following count as extracurriculers? I have plent enough but im wondering if these should apper on my apps

1) Was 5th class president

2) I do reports on colleges, (and visit them) that I want attend so I can send them in these reports and documents (such as a rsvp for undergraduate admission info for mit in October 06 or a presentation done on a college I wish to attend that was necessary for a class). This is to show I have had interest in the colleges for years.

3) Created websites for both of the clubs i created and the company i created

Again i have a longer list of ECs but should the above even go on aps ?

Im pretty sure im just supposed to attach number 2, but where would i put 1 and 3 ? Do they go in the EC section or will colleges not care anyway ?

bump bumpity bump bump, BUMP bump bum

Any quick comments? Just want to know where these go (if they even appear) on my apps.
PS One is supposed to read "School president in 5th grade"

Unless one has done something spectacular such as star in a sitcom or be an Olympics champion, colleges are only interested in what one has done in high school, not 5th grade.

Designing web pages for clubs would count as ECs. It will help if the clubs that you started really are viable, too. Sometimes I see students who allegedly start clubs that have no real function and no real membership. Those are NOT impressive ECs.

The college reports would not count as an EC. Sounds like something you're doing for your own interest, not something you're doing for a club, etc.

Clubs are fine. Just wanted to know if i should mention i made the sites.

The college reports (some were assigned projects, others were personal visits), I thought i may attach to the actual application. Not put in the EC area.

The being elected school president thing ive gotten good and bad about. Some say include, others say dont. Any other comments on this one?

AGAIN I have WAY more ECs and these are just ones im not sure, wether or not to include on apps.

5th grade president DOES NOT belong on your college application. You were like 11..colleges don't care.

Don't attach anything to your application besides what is required (unless possibly you include a supplemental recommendation, etc.). Also, the admissions officers know all about the college they work for. They don't need a research paper about their own institutions.

Include the stuff about being the webmaster for clubs. That counts as an EC.

LEAH

a)Thats what i was pretty sure. Some people have told me to include it, wasnt sure. Thanks for the tip.

b)The research on the college is an assignment for a class, some as early as sophmore year, and id send them in to show the colleges i had interest in the school for a while.

c)Webmaster counts. SWEET!

Any more thoughts ? Espically on a and b .

I seriously don't think you should send research papers about the colleges with your applications. Colleges don't even want to read people's incredible scientific research papers...they're definitely not going to want to read what you wrote about THEIR institution for a class assignment.

leah

Again these on research papers these are essays, photos, etc. to show ive had interest for many years in these colleges. Still no?

And still a no for school president right?

Still no for the president, the colleges already know about themselves so I wouldn't send the papers because that might just make you seem scary desperateish...

You show your interest in the college by the content of your esays and inteview and the things you highlight on your application. For instance, under the proposed major area, you would list something that really is a major that the college offers. You don't show your interest by submitting the kind of extra materials you are considering. That just looks silly and desperate.

haha what if you were the president of a country in the 5th grade would that count haha...
