i was wondering if anyone had any advice on nechanical vs. electrical. i am a soph in high school and i am not sure wich path to go down, mechanical or electrical, or should i lean more towards the arch field. if any one has any advice for me i would greatly apprecitate it.

As you're only a sophomore, you still have more than a year and a half to decide. Look into descriptions of both and the list of courses required for each and decide which one you'd enjoy more.

If you like engineering and architecture, you should consider civil engineering as well. Early in high school, I wanted to be an architect, but decided on civil engr instead.

When you take physics you will have a better idea whether Mechanical or Electrical is you thing. It's not foolproof, but it's someplace to start.

take a class in computer programming. If you don't like it, EE is not for you. if you like mechanics in HS then consider mechE or CivE. As for arch, don't do it. there is very little money and a civE can do more. Most arch majors in my school (i think its the same as ken's) go into something other than building buildings. one arch even transferred into CivE and likes it much better.

Thanks for the information every one i really appreciate it.
