I signed up for the SAT on may 5 and just got my ACT score of 33 (in the upper end of the 25%-75% midrange at my reach schools and translates to about a 2250 on SAT). If I take the SAT the absolute best I can hope for is 750CR 700M and 700W (2150 total) but I will prob get more like a 1900-2000. So my question is can I change my SAT reasoning test to subject tests or must I take the SAT reasoning? I don't want to do bad on the SAT reasoning test and then have it sent in with my SAT IIs.

Thanks!

Bump......... I can't find the answer on the CB website.

Please... they told me they would only give me the answer to my question if I gave them $354!!!

(Ok ok... this is just an elaborate bump)

Cancel the reasoning test and take SAT IIs in June.

I believe that you can still get your money back and can still sign up for the June SAT II.

It's probably too late to sign up for May SAT IIs once you cancel the SAT I though.

I think they send extra test booklets for standbys but you probably need to talk to the CB or the testing center coordinator to get switched to the correct testing group.

Ok, Ill call them tomorrow! And I got one more question. Would not taking the SAT reasoning test at all be a bad move? Would colleges I'm looking at (UChicago, Gtown, Swarthmore and maybe some Ivies) be like "well this kid is trying to hide something by not taking SATs" or would they just say... "well he did OK on the ACTs so who cares about his SAT"? Am I being paranoid or what!

It does not matter. Colleges accept either one unconditionally.

Any other insights?

I took my SAT and it was fairly mediocre. I'm also worried about sending it in with a potentially good ACT score.

I think I'll just suck up the $20 hit and reschedule my current (May 5) SAT Reasoning to June and switch the test to a couple of subject tests.
