Hi everyone, I am a sophmore in high school right now and the school that I really want to go to later after hs is UC Berkeley.
Can anyone tell me what I can do to have a good resume and to get into UC Berkeley?

Well, there's no guarantees, but take the most advanced classes your school offers and try to get a good GPA. Work hard on your SATs, but don't kill yourself, since I don't think Berkeley puts as much emphasis on them as a lot of other schools. Do a reasonable number of ECs, but again, I would recommend not going overboard. And really put a lot into your personal statement. I would say that it and your GPA are probably the most important components, but others might disagree.

Get a 2100+ SAT score with around 700 SAT2 scores. For sure, keep your weighted GPA around a 4 point something. It'd be great if you can get around a 3.8 unweighted with a good number of honors/AP classes. Find your passion and do some interesting ECs with it. Write great essays. And relax.

Thanks sparetire. So what you're saying is that I don't really have to go over board with the ECs right. I don't have to have tons and tons of them just like i don't know maybe about 5-8?

UCs don't care about ECs that much.

Yea.. and don't go getting EC's with a certain number in mind. Like.. don't think about having to get 6-8 or 3-5 and don't think about what the admissions officers will think. Just go out and do stuff that you genuinely find an interest and passion for, and universities will recognize your passion.

... do something that you'd enjoy writing an essay about.
