Hi guys. I feel like I'm just not applying to enough colleges, and I was wondering if you guys have any other ideas. Hamilton is my TOP choice, but I don't think I can ED because of financial aide..
Okay, so what I'm looking for is..
*Small and liberal arts in a ruralish or small town setting
*Generally liberal
*Has some sort of Greek system/active and popular social clubs
*Nice housing, preferably with women's dorms and/or private bathrooms for doubles/quads [I'm allergic to a lot of cleaning products, so I'd prefer to know what products are being used to clean the bathrooms, and how often it's cleaned.]
*Strong enough psychology program, preferably with sociology major [Planning on double majoring.]
*Relatively "green" [I'm a tree hugging vegetarian.]
*A good social/party scene would be preferable
*Diversity would be nice, or at least open mindedness [I won't fell alone if all my friends are white and asian, as long as I have friends. ;)]

And this is me in a nutshell..
*3.67 uw GPA/4.37 W
*From GESP program, which is one-of-a-kind and highly selective
*Native American/African American/Caucasian
*A couple good ECs
*1900 SAT, taking ACT in October [30+ please?]
*Need financial aid
*Expecting to graduate with 200+ [hopefully 250] SSL hours
*From Maryland

I am already applying to.. [In order of preference.]
*Hamilton
*BC
*Colgate
*Elon [my safety]

So, please, any suggestions would be welcome. I'm mostly looking at Northeastern schools, obviously. North or South Carolina would be okay too, though.

Hamilton desperately needs URMs. I think your chances are good there. Probably Colgate too. Would you consider women's colleges? I'd recommend Smith and maybe Mt. Holyoke.

Have you looked at Wheaton (MA) or Lehigh (PA)? Bucknell may be worth a look, too, although may be as selective as Hamilton. I agree that you may have a pretty good shot at Hamilton RD.

I think I'm adding Wheaton to my list. Any other suggestions?
Today I got notification that I was named an "Outstanding Participant" in the National Achievement Scholarship program, which puts me in the top 4% of PSAT scores among Black Americans. Apparently my name is getting put on a list that's being sent to colleges? I hope it'll help my status..

You have some impressive stats, so I wouldn't be too worried about the process - you're a catch anywhere! What about Denison or DePauw for some top midwest liberal arts colleges? Both are in small towns, Greek scenes, academically rigorous, fun environment, etc. Both apps are free as well, I think!
