I am an international student interested in pursuing an undergrad business degree.

Is it easier to get a tranfer to a good university in the US (like NYU ) from a mediocre university in Canada ( like ACADIA UNIVERSITY) or from a more renowned university in the UK ( like CARDIFF UNIVERSITY).

For NYU, I dont think it really matters. I got into NYU this year from a CA communtiy college, which is basically the most ridiculously easy and non-respected school ever. I dont know about other schools.

That's not true. California has the best community college system in the country. In fact I think I remember from my American Institutions/CA government class that CA is the first state to have a community college system. It's also the largest system of higher-education in the world.

My particular school is not well-respected. And Im speaking from personal experience here. Almost no one who is even a decent student in high school goes here. They all go to a CSU or UC school. I get alot of crap from my friends about going here. Im not saying its the worst school ever, im just saying that its nowhere near as good as a 4 year school. If I can get into NYU from here, it does not matter where the OP goes.

which school do/did you go to

College of the Canyons in Valencia. Although I should mention that my experience may have been colored by the fact that all of my friends from high school moved away for college (Washington University in St. Louis, William and Mary, New School in NYC, UMich, etc.) and I had the opportunity to go to Scripps upon graduation from high school. No one liked my choice to go to COC.

Unfortunately, COC is pretty much made fun of locally.

My school is kind of made fun of too. A lot of people don't realize that we have a lot more money than the other nearby community college thus more qualified professors.

But yeah, CCs are looked down upon. Before I enrolled I thought there was no way I would ever go to a CC. Then I learned about the transfer program and realized I was wrong. Good students can do great in CCs.

Guys thanks a lot for ur replies....but im still confused...."Is it easier to get a tranfer to a good university in the US (like NYU ) from a mediocre university in Canada ( like ACADIA UNIVERSITY) or from a more renowned university in the UK ( like CARDIFF UNIVERSITY)."

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IM AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT.......ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT STUDYING IN UK IS TWICE AS EXPENSIVE THAN UK.

I think the more renowned university would be better but I think in general the fact you're an international student hurts you and if you do good in school that's just as important as which school you go to.
