Hey I'm a spring admit who got into FPF but didn't get a housing offer. I'm quite hesitant about the fall enrollment because
1). no housing
2). I did not get the classes that I wanted and am pretty much stuck with something I really don't like
3). If I cancel my fall enrollment I could basically save 12,000 dollars
4). Community colleges have easier classes which means a higher GPA going into cal
But I'm afraid that I might end up missing out, especially in the social aspect. So I was wondering if anyone could give me their takes on this. Thank you for your help!

Is there a possibility that you could find an apartment there?
If you would rather save money and go in with a high GPA in the spring (the community college grades will not count towards your Cal GPA, it will be transfer credit), then I suppose you could cancel your fall enrollment.

Do not worry too much about socializing; once you move in for the spring, there should be mixers or socials that will integrate you and the others. I had a non-FPF friend who was a spring admit, and she had no problem with socializing in the spring. As long you as put the effort to make new friends, then you should be fine.

the gpa doesn’t count? aww then does it i basically start the spring semester with no gpa but some of the required classes fulfilled?

The GPA from community college will not count; once you start at Cal you start with a brand new GPA (I guess it is both bad and good).

But yes, you can fulfill required classes at community colleges; they’ll show up on your Berkeley transcript as transfer credits.
